W. Joshua Buchanan, Esquire

W. Joshua Buchanan is an experienced litigator in all areas of criminal defense. Prior to opening Buchanan Law, Mr. Buchanan was a criminal attorney at Goldman Law Offices, one of the oldest criminal law practices in Bucks County, PA. There, Mr. Buchanan litigated cases in Bucks, Montgomery, and Lehigh Counties. 

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Buchanan was a Deputy Public Defender at the Bucks County Public Defender's Office for more than 13 years. He has represented thousands of clients at trial, under criminal investigation, at PFA hearings, before grand juries, and at probation and parole violation hearings. 

In private practice, Mr. Buchanan continues to provide his clients with the outstanding representation they expect and deserve. Mr. Buchanan prides himself on being accessible to his clients and maintaining professional relationships with prosecutors, law enforcement, and the Courts. In recent years, his practice has expanded to include pardons, proceedings to restore firearm rights, license suspension appeals, expungements, summary appeals, and Children and Youth matters. 

In addition to his advocacy in the courtroom, Mr. Buchanan is a leader in the community. He is the former Chair of the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission and one of the founders of the Bucks County Recovery Residence Oversight Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Board for the Bucks County Recovery House Association. With this experience, Mr. Buchanan has amassed a wealth of knowledge and information to share with clients and families struggling with addiction. There is simply no other lawyer in Southeastern Pennsylvania in a better position to assist in the difficult decision of where to turn when a loved one is in need of treatment. 

In recognition of this expertise, the Bucks County Courts recently hired Mr. Buchanan to represent all participants in the Bucks County Drug Court and Mental Health Court Programs. Mr. Buchanan is well-respected by his peers and Judges who appreciate his informed, compassionate, and comprehensive approach to obtain tremendous results for his clients.

Mr. Buchanan is a life-long resident of Bucks County and a graduate of William Tennent High School. After graduating summa cum laude from West Chester University, Mr. Buchanan finished in the top 5 of his class from Widener University School of Law. Mr. Buchanan currently lives in Upper Bucks County with his wife and two sons. He is also a current member of the Milford Township Zoning Board. When he is not in court or with his clients, Mr. Buchanan plays ice hockey in a local adult league and enjoys offshore fishing with his family.
